I'm a 26 year old photographer, originally from Porterville, CA, and now living in San Diego, CA. Since a young age, I was always more of the artistic type.  I loved to draw growing up, and later on discovered a passion for architecture.  I discovered photography in 2006 when my aunt bought a Minolta 35mm camera at a pawn shop and gave it to me.  After a few months of fumbling over the controls and learning how to "see" with the camera, I soon realized that photography is exactly what I had been looking for all the years that I had been trying other artistic outlets.  While living up on the Central Coast for a couple years, I took some classes in black and white photography, and found that time in the darkroom is almost as relaxing and fulfilling as surfing has been for me.  The beautiful coastline of San Luis Obispo county was the perfect place for me to develop my skills and vision, and I realized that incorporating the surroundings into my surf photos led me to an image I was much more proud of.  This last year, I have focused my time behind the camera more on surf photos than the landscapes I started shooting, while always keeping same concepts in mind about composition and use of color that I have in the past.
